Anti-Aging Peptides · Telomere Support

Epitalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) based on epithalamin, a peptide produced by the pineal gland.

What is Epitalon?

Epitalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) based on epithalamin, a peptide produced by the pineal gland. It is one of the most studied anti-aging peptides, primarily investigated for its ability to activate telomerase and potentially extend cellular lifespan. Developed by Professor Vladimir Khavinson in Russia.

Also known as: Epithalon, Epithalamin, AGAG peptide

How Does Epitalon Work?

Activates telomerase, the enzyme responsible for maintaining and elongating telomeres — the protective caps on chromosomes that shorten with age. Also stimulates melatonin production by the pineal gland and modulates the neuroendocrine system.

What is Epitalon Used For?

Frequently Asked Questions

Does epitalon really extend lifespan?
Animal studies show epitalon increased mean lifespan by 13-31% in rodents. Human cell studies show telomerase activation and telomere elongation. However, no long-term human clinical trials have been completed, so lifespan extension in humans remains theoretical.
Should you worry about cancer with epitalon?
Telomerase activation is a concern because cancer cells also use telomerase. However, studies on epitalon have actually shown anti-tumor effects in animal models. The peptide appears to normalize telomerase activity rather than creating pathological activation. Still, those with active cancer should avoid it.
